SSIC Not Afraid

This week's Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge is all about not being afraid......and Candace has chosen this scripture:

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?" Psalm 118:6

We have been challenged to do something on your card that you're "afraid" of! For example, CAS style, stitching, a vintage look, etc. Just do something you wouldn't normally do!

For me that us leaving so much white on a card - my 'signature style' is to fill it with layers. lace, bling and anything vintage...so I extended the challenge and made my card without any image as well....

But I could not just leave the white plain and had to emboss using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine and the Enchanted M-Bossabilities.  I love this ribbon, which is lightly wired and created such a gorgeous bow.  I have used a recycled button and snipped the back off.  Quick and easy but so elegant - don't you think and suitable for many occasions!

This card is for the following challenges:
Simply Create Too - Wedding (or Love)
Just Keep on Creating - anything goes
Penny's Paper-Crafty - Anything goes
Truly Scrumptious - anything goes
Party Time Tuesdays -  Vintage or Shabby Chic

Thank you to our sponsor Sweet n' Sassy Stamps

It's a Man Thing

I am back and on a mission - to use what is on my desk - and believe me, it is quite a challenge as things gather and seem to multiply over night - do you know that feeling?  I am sure YOU are not like that! LOL!

I have created these quick masculinbe cards using some remnants of paper from Webster's Pages, I was inspired by Nina Brackett and the way she is using her scraps so creatively, she created something similar to these cards, so I had to CASE her.

I have also used the Spellbinders Ribbon Banners along with the co-ordinating retired Layers of Color Sentimental Banners clear art stamp set, also illustrated by Nina Brackett.

The Dies have been cut using the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine

Finishing off with a little bit of black bling from Want2Scrap - it does not get much easier than this!

Nina B Designs Blog Hop #3

Welcome to another NinaB Designs blog hop. The NBD Team and has something exciting for you today. Nina challenged us to create something that uses the NinaB Designs Spellbinders die cuts from non-paper products on their projects.  Did you know that Spellbinders dies can cut all kinds of material?  Kim Hupke, the Educational Director of Spellbinders Paper Arts did a video showing all types of products you can cut with the dies that you can find HERE.

For my project today, I die cut both cork and felt with NinaB Designs' Licensed Dies for Spellbinders Paper Arts - Home Sweet Home  dies.

The adorable little house has been cut using the Spellbinders Home Sweet Home Die using cork and the heart using felt - both cut so easily the Spellbinders Grand Calibur Machine. These have been sponged using the Die as a Mask and then mounted onto patterned paper cut using the Spellbinders Floral Ovals Nestabilities.

A Seam Binding bow and Mulberry Paper Rose

Finishing off with some divine Want2Scrap Fancy That bling - these have also been designed by NinaB Designs

I love the scene this fabulous set of Dies creates.

Here are the dies I used:

Here are the prizes to be won.

Winners will be picked randomly from 5 of the designers' blogs:

Everybody is welcome to comment and be eligible to win. The winners will be announced on  May 22 right here. Due to the number of prizes being given away on Nina's blog and the dependence on Nina's Mom to do the shipping, we have to ask that the winners email Nina through the  Contact tab on her Blog with their info within 4 days (till May 26) in order to claim the  prize. This will help with organization and avoiding confusion.  Thanks for understanding!
Finally, please consider liking the following Facebook pages that are represented on today's hop, so you don't miss the latest news and happenings:

I hope we've inspired you all today! Happy hopping!

Crafty Friends Challenge #4 - Anything But a Card

I am back with my project for the Crafty Friends Challenge - it is Heather's turn to host and she has challenged us to create Anything But a Card - this challenge makes me smile as I never considered myself an 'off the page' person, but them someone called it 'Altered Art' and I was there instantly, 'hit the ground with my feet running' and not looked back! LOL!

This week I have created a Nostalgic Tag - it was very quick and easy to create and just perfect for the gorgeous hanger my kids got me for Mother's Day, where I hang my divine vintage lace.....(just quietly - I know it was my DH who brought on the kids behalf - love it that he knows me so well and got the perfect gift - definitely keeping him!)

The image the tag is based on is from Crafty Secrets (love them), as it the little ticket.

Some thick Ricrac is added down the side and the gorgeous pearl trim is from the Craft Queen, I savour each little bit of it!

The wings are from Spellbinders Paper Arts, one of NinaB Designs Licensed Dies - they are cut with vellum and has 3D Kindy Glitz added, I was not sure how this would work out but an very happy with the results.  A mulberry rose has been added and then some of the divine bling from Want2Scrap, this is also designed by NinaB Designs - Nina is everywhere - don't you love that!

You can see where the tag has found a home....right next to my desk!

This tag is for the following challenges:
